Supporting what we believe will be the future leaders of tomorrow, every summer we welcome a cohort of interns from students in higher education.
Our Sea Lions internship programme provides four weeks of structured, inclusive learning to successful applicants who wish to explore a potential career in our industry.
Our programme
Over the course of the programme, participants gain exposure to our investment teams, portfolio companies and central functions, ensuring they develop a holistic understanding of how Caledonia creates long-term value. We structure the experience to combine the learning of softer skills in a workplace environment, alongside formal training with practical project work, to enable interns to apply their skills to real business challenges.
Mentoring is central to the programme. Every intern is paired with a dedicated sponsor who provides guidance, encouragement and support throughout their time with us. Regular seminars, networking opportunities and team-building activities further strengthen their experience and provide valuable insight into our collaborative culture.

The last 4 weeks have been filled with personal development, an exploration of Caledonia’s place in the world of finance, and a sense of community like no other. Every member of staff we met was full of support and love for the interns, and we were made to feel like we belonged.

The Sea Lion programme is more than a learning opportunity; it is a two-way exchange. Interns bring fresh ideas, energy and new perspectives, while we provide a platform to develop and showcase their talents. For many, it represents the beginning of a rewarding professional journey. For Caledonia, it is a chance to invest in the next generation and to continue fostering a thriving, engaged community of future leaders.
The initial application process for the Sealion programme takes place in October and November for the month-long internship which takes place in the following June and July.
